Peru · Six Months
From the Sacred Valley to Lake Titicaca, Peru moved with the land. Some stories, like Ollantaytambo, are already here. Others are still unfolding.
Peru: What Stayed With Me
Six months across elevation and ancestry, in cities built on cities and valleys still speaking their original names. From Lima's dense sprawl to the high quiet of the Sacred Valley, Peru moved differently. Days arranged themselves around markets, meals, and light.
I walked in Cusco long enough for its altitude to become ordinary. I rode out to Lake Titicaca and let stillness lead. I followed the curve of the Urubamba and sat in awe at Machu Picchu's symmetry without needing to photograph it.
Peru holds 13 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Machu Picchu, the Lines and Geoglyphs of Nasca, and the City of Cusco itself. Each one a reminder that history here isn't a backdrop. It's active. It's audible. It's worn.
