About

I stopped
holding back.
The road is what I learned from.

Hi, I'm Gloria. What follows is the long version of how Traveling Wanderluster started, and what the road keeps teaching me.

I grew up on the island of Guam and spent years in Honolulu, shaped by horizon lines, layered cultures, and a quiet pull to go farther. From early on, I was curious about the world beyond, not just to see it, but to live inside it.

In 2015, I landed in Mexico on a freelance assignment. That one trip became something more permanent. I didn't speak the language. I didn't have a plan. But I had a decision: to stop holding back.

That shift changed everything. Mexico became my classroom, teaching me how to move through uncertainty, stay grounded in unfamiliar places, and listen even when I didn't understand every word.

Since then, I've traveled slowly: through Latin America, Southeast Asia, and across the U.S., balancing remote work, time with family, and the practice of presence. Along the way, I've built systems for moving well: packing light, staying connected, creating space for reflection.

What This Is

Not bucket lists. Tools and stories.

Traveling Wanderluster is where I share what the road keeps teaching me. Not bucket lists or best-ofs, but practical tools, honest stories, and the mindset it takes to keep going. It's for people who seek experience, not escape. For those who understand that travel isn't just about distance, it's about direction.

Travel has always been a teacher. It strips away convenience, demands attention, and reveals what you actually need. I created this space to offer what I once searched for: not polished itineraries, but grounded systems for moving with purpose, and stories for staying open when the map runs out.

The next chapter is still unfolding. But I'm not waiting.

Where I've Stayed

Long enough to learn it.

I don't pass through. I stay. Long enough for the language to soften in my ear, for the rhythm to become internal, for the place to teach me what it actually is.
